Recently, the beatles have been in my thoughts a great deal. If you think about it, despite everything they did that didnt make too much sense to the common man, IE: yellow submaries, walrus's and blue meanies: the beatles tried to make people open their eyes and check the world out.
Take a look at the lessons they tried to teach us,
Eleanor Rigby: Look around and be there, because some people, despite how they appear really need you.
Hey Jude: take the good and the bad and make it better. If your want to cry: cry. If you want to laugh: laugh. Just take it in and out and make it better.
Penny Lane: Never forget your humble origins and remember them with a smile.
Twist and Shout: Have some fun for god's sake!
Yesterday: there will be bad days.
With a little help from my friends: Keep your friends close. They need you, and you need them, so just admit it and have fun with it.
The Long and Winding Road: its a long journey, try to enjoy it.
Let it Be: There are some things we can't control, just don't let them destroy you. let them go.
I've Just seen a face: Love can hit you pretty hard.
I want to hold your hand: Tell them how you feel.
Come Together: Nuff' said.

Not just the Songs, the beatles themselves each had wonderful contributions.
John would always take his glasses off and say, "Its just me."
Paul could sit at his piano and make art for hours.
George could bring people together for many many good reasons, even if just to smile.
Ringo: could turn anything into something fun.
Its nice once in a while to look back at things.
